Imagine getting slammed in the balls with a tennis or handball!... OUCH!... No thanks!

The difference between nude and in those flimsy shorts is negligible. And we are evolved over millions of years to be able to keep our balls from being injured naturally. Wearing clothes inhibits this skill set.
